The brand chains often offer a factory-reconditioned exchange gearbox at a very high price. Therefore, we perform complete repairs and renovation of both manual and automatic gearboxes for most car brands. We disassemble, clean and carry out careful bearing replacements while replacing worn components with the utmost precision.

Clutch & Flywheel Replacement: 

Are you experiencing a slipping clutch, vibrations or harsh gear changes? We also perform complete clutch replacements and replace dual mass flywheels for all types of passenger cars and light commercial vehicles. We provide professional work on the car's drivetrain.

DSG & Dual Clutch Service: 

We carry out advanced diagnostics and repairs of DSG gearboxes and dual clutches for brands such as Volkswagen (VW), Audi, Skoda and Seat. 

DQ Series (Transverse Gearboxes): e.g. the standard DQ200 with dry clutch, as well as the more robust DQ250, DQ381 and DQ500 with wet clutch.

DL Series (Longitudinal Gearboxes): e.g. DL501 (0B5) which are very common in four-wheel drive Audi models.

Differentials & Locking Differentials:

Diagnostics, servicing and refurbishing of differentials for optimal power distribution. BMW xDrive:  front differentials and rear differentials.

Specialist work on, among others, VAG - 0CQ: Dismantling/cleaning and bearing replacements.

Transfer Boxes & Four-Wheel Drive:

 Diagnostics, servicing and refurbishing of transfer boxes and four-wheel drive systems such as AWD/4WD/Haldex. 

BMW xDrive: We provide repairs and servicing of BMW transfer boxes (e.g. ATC series)

VAG - Haldex Gen 5: Specialist service of four-wheel drive – Dismantling/cleaning of the pump, oil change and calibration to prevent pump failure.

Electronics, Mechatronics & Control Units (TCU): 

We perform advanced diagnostics, repair and programming of the gearbox's electronic control systems. We repair or replace defective Mechatronic units (e.g. VAG DSG), valve bodies and TCU control units.(DQ200): Repair of hydraulic pressure drops and cracked housings. Common fault codes: P17BF, P189C or P0841. (DQ381 / DQ500): Replacement of defective sensors when the gearbox loses smooth or odd gear shifts. Common fault codes: P1735 and P1736.

WZ Transmissions AB – Renovation of Manual Gearboxes

We have expert knowledge in manual transmissions and carry out everything from bearing replacements in case of noise, to clutch replacements and the renovation of manual gearboxes. We diagnose and quickly rectify faults such as noise in the gearbox, stiff gears, slipping clutches, or gears jumping out of place in all car brands.

Renovation & Inspection:

Complete disassembly, cleaning, and inspection of all components for all car brands. We carry out precise measurements to check and measure the correct tolerances in the gearbox. We inspect and replace worn synchroniser rings, shafts, seals, and gears to restore the gearbox to as good as new for (e.g., Volvo, VW, Audi, Ford, and Renault) where we restore the mechanical function of the gearbox.

Bearing Replacement for Noise Issues:

 Some examples include Volkswagen/Audi/Skoda (02T / MQ200 / MQ250). Opel (M32), Renault and Nissan(PF6, TL4, JR5), Ford as well as Toyota, Honda, Mazda and Kia (M5CF1/2, M6CF1/2/3, M6LF1/2) where worn input or output bearings are a common issue.

Shiftfix AB – Renovation of Automatic Gearboxes, CVT & Technology 

Automatic gearboxes, CVT and electronic control systems require advanced diagnostics, gearbox servicing and high technical precision. We are experts in oil changes and repairs of advanced systems as well as TCU/control units and valve systems. We rectify your vehicle when it has gone into limp mode, shifts roughly, slips in gears or has completely lost reverse.

Automatic & CVT Gearboxes:

We disassemble, clean, and inspect the gearbox in-depth to replace worn components such as friction plates, seals and bearings. We also renovate valve bodies, replace defective solenoids (magnetic valves), and address slipping torque converters. After completing the repair, we perform electronic calibration and reset adaptation values to ensure your automatic or CVT gearbox shifts smoothly again.

ZF: Found in brands like BMW, Audi and Jaguar. We work extensively with the 6HP series (e.g., 6HP19, 6HP26) and the 8HP series (e.g., 8HP45, 8HP50, 8HP51, 8HP70, 8HP75, 8P75H).

Aisin Warner: Extremely common automatic gearboxes in Volvo (e.g., AW55-50SN, TF-80SC, TG-81SC) and newer BMW & MINI with transverse engines (e.g., 8-speed 8G45 / GA8G45 / GA8F22AW).

Mercedes-Benz Own Gearboxes: Repair of e.g., 5G-Tronic (722.6), 7G-Tronic (722.9), and newer 9G-Tronic.

Ford's Own Gearboxes: 10R80 & 6R80 longitudinally-mounted and used in Ford's larger SUVs and pickups. 8F35: Transversely-mounted 8-speed automatic gearbox. 6F55: Transversely-mounted 6-speed automatic gearbox.

CVT / Continuously Variable Gearboxes: For example, CVT gearboxes from Nissan, Toyota.

Dual-Clutch Repair: 

Specialist in Ford & Volvo Powershift (6DCT450 / MPS6), Kia and Hyundai DCT/DCT7 (D7GF1 / D7UF1). We carry out complete replacement of clutch packs, both wet and dry clutches when you experience symptoms such as  rough shifting, slipping in gears, loss of reverse or if even/odd gears have completely disappeared, along with adjustment of clutch play.

Warranty Terms for Gearbox Refurbishment and Repairs

Repairing or refurbishing a gearbox is a long-term investment in the lifespan of your vehicle. For your peace of mind, we apply clear and honest terms:

Scope and validity: We provide a 1-year warranty (maximum 15,000 km) on fully completed refurbishments. The warranty covers the parts we have replaced as well as our performed workmanship.

If you remove and install the component yourself (Loose part): It is the customer's responsibility to ensure that the installation is carried out in a professional, workmanlike manner and that the correct type and volume of gearbox oil are used. When installing refurbished automatic and DSG gearboxes, it is an absolute requirement that a proper reset and adaptation of the gearbox control unit is performed using an approved diagnostic tool before the vehicle is driven; otherwise, the warranty is void.

In the event of a suspected fault: The vehicle must be taken out of service immediately. The component must be returned to us for inspection. If the warranty claim is approved, we will reimburse the shipping costs. External costs for towing, car hire, loss of earnings, or removal and installation performed by a third party (another workshop) are not reimbursed.

The warranty does not apply to: Damage caused by negligence, software manipulation (chiptuning/remapping), extreme overloading (e.g. heavy trailers on known weak factory designs), or if anyone else has tampered with or opened the component during the warranty period. No warranty is provided on parts supplied by the customer, only on our installation work.
